happy monday !!! i'm sharing one of my fave coffee shops in san diego! I love better buzz coffee.. their "best drink ever" is so yummy -- it's probably what drew me in the first time I had better buzz and it's not even anything crazy. it's just espresso and water with their house vanilla powder (which they sell also)! something about it hot or iced, it's just good! there are a few locations in SD, and luckily there is one near my house maybe like 3-5 min drive away. It's super small and not the best coffee shop to hangout in -- more like a just grab your coffee and go. Buuuut they have an amazing, cool location in Encinitas (about 15 min from me) that is bigger and just so cool inside! I could literally hang out in there with my laptop or iPad and just chill. It has such great vibes. Bottom line, I love this place & had to share it!! Haha.. don't hate me but I am NOT a starbucks fan.. I will go there once in a while if it's my only option but I don't think their coffee tastes good.. it always tastes burnt.. just not a great flavor and I also love drinking just regular coffee with cream & sugar, and I can't stand their regular coffee.. Anyway, better buzz also makes great seasonal drinks like their pumpkin spiced chai --- sooooooo good! I've had it iced and hot, and both ways are delicious and obvi a fall necessity. They also have PSL, i just haven't had it from there yet but I'm sure it's bomb! I can't wait to go back, chill, and sip on some yummy coffee!

have a fabulous day & an amazing week!

may your Monday be short & your coffee strong! ☕️☕️

"life is better buzzed!!"

little italy farmers market

Happy hump day dolls!!

im sharing some photos from last Saturday when my hubby and i visited the little Italy farmers market! I absolutely love farmers market -- so much to see and eat!! I love all the fresh and organic fruit, veggies, flowers and of course all the food vendors! It's also so much fun people watching -- seeing people with their kids and pups. If you go to this farmers market you have to try and BUY the bitchin' sauce and majestic garlic dips!! OMG they are seriously insanely good! Another one of my faves at this market is the gourmet tamales stand -- I always get the pork in green chiles! It is so good!! Of course when I'm there I can never say no to fresh flowers -- so many kinds so pretty and colorful -- and they're still brightening up my kitchen now! I got this incredible basket-weave bag as a beach bag from target (I'm sad it was missing the tassels when I went to pick it up) ! It is the perfect bag for the farmers market and for the beach! I'll probably be using it all summer long!

Going to the farmers market, walking around, enjoying the people watching and getting some great produce and food is one of my faves to do on the weekend!! Can't wait for more farmers market adventures, especially when the weather starts to warm up!

What at do you enjoy doing on the weekends?

sol cal cafe

Happy hump day dolls !! Whoa it's been awhile since I've posted in "my sd"... Sharing an awesome new place in downtown SD that will totally brighten up your day!

My hubby and I have actually passed by this little sunny cafe a couple times while strolling along in east village/downtown sd. I finally stopped in yesterday when I was dying for a healthy breakfast and had no time to make anything at home. I saw that they have avocado toast -- I am obsessed with avocado toast. I know, I know its super simple and I can totally make it at home but I didn't have the ingredients and I was in a rush. It was so yummy and it also came with a delicious side salad -- couldn't quite tell what the dressing was, but it was really good and refreshing. I also tried one of their super teas -- hello kiwi -- also super refreshing and not too sweet. I cannot wait to go back and try some of their salads, teas, pressed juices and smoothies! Sol Cal is super cute and super bright, and I looooove their motto -- happy. healthy. yummy. Definitely recommend you guys to check it out!

summers are for picnics at the park

Happy Tuesday! Unfotnately I am still sick with an icky cough but I wanted to share my new summer tradition with my love bug -- picnics at the park! I don't know why I didn't think of this as a tradition for past summers, but this summer I want to try to pack in more fun than the usual. It was really fun planning and putting together a lovely lunch picnic for my love and I at Kate Sessions park in Pacific Beach. I love this park because its huge, has a beautful view of the city and the bay, and its never crowded with people.

For our first summer picnic, I found this simple and cute picnic blanket big enough for two people, a cute wicker basket, some colorful plates and napkins, and acrylic stemless wine glasses. The morning of  our first picnic, we stopped at Bristol Farms because they have a huge selection of cheeses, meats and other yummy salads and breads. We chose brie and a gorgonzola spread to pair with bread and salami. I also got some of their yummy spinach pasta salad (not pictured), fresh strawberries and chocolate covered almonds to satisfy our sweet tooth. It was perfect. The weather was nice, not too warm and not too cold. I always pictured myself in a pretty floral dress for a picnic, I have no idea why but I was glad I had one that went along with my first picnic fantasy...haha. We found a nice big tree to sit under with a perfect shot of the view. This is going to be a definite summer tradition of ours -- beautiful day spent outdoors, yummy food pairings, and each other's company. I cannot wait until the next time.

What are some of your favorite summer traditions?

cafe chloe

Sunday funday at Cafe Chloe in downtown this morning. This place has been on my list for forever and I love a good brunch. My love bug and I finally had time this morning to try it out. It is such a cute little quaint french restaurant, and the food is delish.

We shared the morning bun (special cinnamon roll) and croque madame (toasted bread topped with ham, gruyere cheese, a white sauce, and a sunny side up egg and green onion) -- both yummy and full of flavor, and the presentation ain't bad too! Every bite was just so tasty. It was nice sitting outside sippin my delish pomegranate mimosa. We were able to enjoy the sunshine and people watching. I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes, they all sounded interesting and yummy.

Now is the perfect time for my lazy Sunday -- grab a book and curl up in bed with my furbabies and maybe even take a nice long nap.  I hope everyone has beautiful and relaxing Sunday funday!

sunset cliffs

Happy Saturday! Today seemed like the perfect day to enjoy a little bit of the outdoors, see what mother nature has to offer, to relax and reflect, so I thought let's go to Sunset Cliffs--basically cliffs looking out on to the endelss sea. Its the perfect place to walk around and take in the scenery--waves crashing against the rocks, seagulls flying over the water, bike riders passing by. It's also nice to find a bench, close your eyes and let your other senses kick in--hearing the loud yet peaceful crashing of the waves below you, the scent of the salty air, and feeling the nice sea breeze and warm sun on your skin (but today it was pretty windy haha). Sunset Cliffs never has too many people around at any given time, no kids running around screaming, no people walking around talking loudly into their cell phones--just peaceful. Today was the perfect day to take in the view--reminded me how lucky I am to live in this beautiful place. I found coming to Sunset Cliffs on the eve of Easter so fitting, a great place to reflect. Easter is not just about the fun of egg hunting (fyi egg hunting is done on Easter because they represent new life..), indulging in chocolates or receiving baskets filled with treats from the Easter bunny, but Easter is a time for rebirth and reflection, a time to better ourselves. Hope y'all had a chance to stop, take in a deep breath and reflect -if not, now is the time, give it a try and you'll see how much lighter and better you will feel.

napizza

{{Happy Friday! Here's is my first post taking a look into My SD -- a place where I can share some of my favorite spots in San Diego. Since my fiance and I love good food, a lot of these spots are going to be yummy restaurants}}

My fiance and I were looking for something quick, but yummy close to downtown, so we headed over to Little Italy. I love Littly Italy because there are always people walking around and there are so many great restaurants to choose from. Its nice to walk around, people-watch or just sit outside and enjoy views of the harbor. We found Napizza--a little, rustic, modern, casual restaurant. They have great pizzas--huge slices and full of flavor. One of my favorites is their lasagna pizza, pretty much all there is in a lasagna except the noodles. The meat and sauce are cooked to perfection. I don't remember all the details but they have a special way of making their dough, taking their time to bring you better, healthier food. They also pride themselves in farm-to-table, organic ingredients, so you're definitely getting great quality food. Their nutella pizza for dessert is also worth mentioning--nutella spread on warm, baked focaccia bread with powdered sugar sprinkled on top--so simple and yet so delicious. Napizza has become one of my go to spots in San Diego. Buon appetito!
