my fave lippies

happy monday dolls! today i want to share my must-have lip colors of the season! there's nothing i love more than adding a fun, pretty, bold lip color to complete my looks. i loooove lip colors for fall and winter the best -- i just love all the darker, richer colors that we don't really wear in the spring and summer. i tend to gravitate towards the same kind of shades of deep reds, plums, browns, and mauve-y-brownish tones -- they're just so pretty, bold and perfect for the holiday season! i like to switch it up between lip gloss and lip stick. i am seriously obsessed! it's also super important that the color lasts and is super comfortable on the lips. ugh, i cannot stand when the color starts to crack or make my lips feel super dry. keep reading to find out which brands and colors i am obsessed with!!

from top to bottom :: anastasia of BH lip gloss in warm bronze, anastasia of BH lip gloss in vamp, NARS unspeakable, anastasia of BH lip gloss tara, anastasia of BH lip gloss in fudge

so if you can't tell i am obsessed with anastasia of beverly hills' lip glosses! they are the bomb -- they are super pigmented and so comfortable on the lips. they have an ultra-smooth, weightless formula with a mirror-like finish. they have lots of colors and i prefer the high shine finish (which are most of the colors), but there is also metallic finish and shimmer finish. they are all so pretty! i also love the new NARS velvet lip glide ! they are beautiful semi-matte finish lip color that also has great pigment and is also comfortable and non-drying on the lips. i can't wait to get more colors!

from top to bottom :: Bite Beauty amuse bouche in nori, MAC liptensity in cordovan, Bite Beauty amuse bouche in molasses, MAC liptensity in smoked almond

l also love bite beauty's amuse bouche lipsticks ! they are high-impact lipsticks in lots of shades that also provide extreme moisutre, soft tecture and creamy wear. as you know, i'm all about lipsticks and lipglosses but i need them to be comfortable on my lips, so these again are amazing and non-drying. these lipsticks are super easy to apply and wear everyday, as are the MAC liptensity lipsticks ! these lipsticks also give full-intensity color in a rich gel formula that melts on contact with a satin finish in one stroke. what more can you ask for?! i am obsessed !!

what are your favorite lip colors for the season? leave them in the comments below... i have a serious weakness for makeup but i loooove getting and trying new lip sticks and lip glosses!

must-have fall staple

oh monday we meet again...and i have another must-have monday for you --

B L A N K E T  S C A R V E S !!

now that we are fianlly getting some cooler, even chilly weather in san diego i am finally able to bust out my blanket scarves! the blanket scarf is definitely a staple for fall -- if you don't have one, you need to get one like asap! they are so cozy and comfy, and they come in so many different colors and patterns! i personally like to keep mine pretty simple with warm fall colors or a great plaid. i think the bulkiness of the blanket scarf just makes you look and feel super cozy and bundles for the cooler fall temps. blanket scarves look great with dresses as well as a simple tee and jeans. and if you haven't noticed blanket scarves are obviously a blanket so they can be worn in so many different ways, which is nice because depending on how you wear it, it can change your look. i styled my blanket scarf in three different ways for you -- pretty easy and simple!

s t y l e  no. 1

the first style is a belted poncho-like style -- wrap scarf around your body and over your shoulders, like you're going to cuddle up in a blankie. you can fold the scarf a little bit if its too big and bulky. then wrap any belt or sash around your waist. fluff out the "sleeves" and kinda bunch up the material in the front a little bit, and voila! looks kinda like a poncho -- super cute and totally different way to styling a scarf than just wrapping it around your neck.

s t y l e  no. 2

second style imitates the infinity scarf -- super duper easy, you can fold the scarf again into a triangle and roll it a little bit then wrap it around your neck and hide the ends underneath and boom, done!

s t y l e  no. 3

third style is a wrap style -- i feel like depending on your scarf's pattern this can be a more "fancy" sophisticated style. take the scarf and wrap it around your shoulders, then take one end/side and bring it up to your opposite shoulder and tuck underneath. then grab the scarf from that opposite side and loosely wrap over the other shoulder. fluff and ruffle and bunch how you would like to achieve the perfect look !

hope you enjoy these styles and will fit a blanket scarf in your fall wardrobe soon!

here are some great tips on how to style the blanket scarf from P I N T E R E S T // i've also shared links below to shop for your perfect blanket scarf! check check check it out!!

blanket scarf :: forever 21, in stores but cant find online :( but i've linked a bunch below! // top :: gap // jeans :: zara // cuff bracelets (on serious repeat!) :: bauble bar // watch :: shinola, others from this brand i love herehere and here

pregnancy must-haves

Happy Monday!! I am back with another monday must-haves post -- i know its been awhile! In case your new to my blog and haven't noticed I am PREGNANT !! I am almost six months pregnant and loving it -- well, most of it anyway! I have totally embraced my fast-growing baby bump -- it has gotten so big in the last few weeks and totally popped out! Definitely no hiding it now haha! But i love it -- it totally makes it feel more real -- kinda nervous, anxious, scary but oh so exciting! Anyway, since I am expecting my first baby soon, I have been all about maternity style and pregnancy essentials, so of course I had to share some of my favorite maternity styles and must-haves while pregnant. (scroll through and click any of the photos below to shop these awesome picks) :)

I have been looooooving fitted dresses that accentuate and show off my baby bump! I was nervous at first, and in the beginning of my pregnancy I totally wanted to only wear flowy and loose-fitting dresses, but as my bump started to pop out, I went toward more body-concious outfits. I didn't want the outfits to look unflaterring and hug me in the wrong places, but I think it is so cute when you can see your baby bump! So I shared some great dresses that show off the bump and that can be dressed up or down with different accessories.

Other must-have items for me during my pregnany so far have been comfy pajamaspajama sets and robes. I already love super soft pjs and comfy robes, and I love them even more now that I'm preggers! First of all, I love laying in bed when I'm at home, its just more comfortable for me, so I really enjoy doing that in a cute, comfy, soft pair of pajamas or a robe! I've also gotten a few new pairs of great stretchy leggings and sweatpants to lounge around the house in or run errands -- when your belly starts getting bigger the last thing you want are restricting pants or jeans over your belly! I can't wait for the weather to get cooler so I can wear leggings out without sweating haha!

Moving on from the maternity clothing and into the items I have been loving -- the body pillow is number one! So i have heard a mix of review on this one -- you either hate it or love it. I got mine pretty early in the pregnancy because for some reason i was already prettty uncomfortable laying down. At least then I thought I was uncomfortable, but now I am for sure haha. At this stage in the pregnancy, I shouldn't be sleeping on my back or stomach..and those positions are my preferred positions. The body pillow totally helps -- i use it for my back kinda like a wedge so i don't roll on my back and use the bottom part of it between my legs -- life changer! Second, essential oils -- I had headaches in the beginning of my second trimester and now I have problems falling asleep and staying asleep, so peppermint oil (for headaches) and lavender oil (sleep) have helped me feel more relaxed and its just nice to diffuse, something very calming about the oils -- love them! Also to help with headaches and just to stay healthy adn hydrated -- a water bottle. I have to Swell water bottles and I usually always carry one with me to make sure I stay hydrated throughout the day. Lastly, the other item i cannot live without is my belly balm! i use the honest comapny's organic belly balm and its great -- totally soothing (i get very itchy on my belly and boobies hehe) and it lasts all night long!

hope you enjoyed this post! if you're preggers or have kids, what are/were some of your pregnancy must-haves i need to try??

my summer makeup essentials

Happy Monday dolls! The weather is finally heating up, so i thought this is the perfect time to share my must-have summer makeup essentials. When its really hot out, the sun's beating down and maybe te humidty levels are out of control, wearing clothes, shoes or anything on your skin can seem so icky! I know when it's super hot out, the last thing i want is a bunch of stuff on my face -- buuuut i think i've found some perfect makeup products to keep you looking fresh and dewy without the icky feel. During the summer months I like to keep things pretty simple, sometimes I wear no makeup at all, but other times i just feel better if i have a little somethin' somethin', ya feel me? my faves are a tinted moisturizer, little bit of blush, highlighter, mascara, brow gel and the perfect lip balm. check out some of my faves below!

F A C E

So for the base of my face I like to keep is lightweight. I usually lean toward using a tinted moisturizer -- i know it doesn't offer a ton of coverage and luckily for me, I don't necessarily need a lot of coverage -- just something to make my face look even and smooth and bright. I love this tarte BB cream because its super lightweight and it can be used on its own or under foundation because it also acts as a primer. It has SPF 30, it's buildable, provides oil-free moisture, minimizes pores and brightens the skin! I mean what's not to love -- absolute perfection for summer! Urban Decay's naked skin one and done is pretty awesome too, especially if you want something with a little more coverage. This product has SPF 20 and is a "hybrid complexion perfector". i've used this multiple times and i believe it does exactly what is says -- one and done! literally, i feel like i don't need much after i've applied this to my face -- smooths everything out and makes your skin look pretty flawless! Sometimes if I feel like my pores are out of control and i need more smoothing factor -- the hourglass veil primer is one of the BEST primers out there. It is a little on the pricey side -- but so worth it! it goes on your skin like a velvety mousse -- seriously so soft! Sometimes I will just put this on and a little mascara and I'm good to go!

tarte BB cream // urban decay naked skin // hourglass veil primer

ok....uhm highlighters! i mean how could you not use a highlighter! right?!?! I am just like everyone in the world and am OBSESSED with highlighters. What's not to love? They give you such a pretty, dewy glow. Who doesn't want to be pretty and have glowing skin?? There are tons of highlighters out there and I probably own like 10 -- some more dramatic than others, but these three here are my absolute faves for summer. They add just the perfect amount of highlight, not too sparkly or shiny. Benefit's watts up is really pretty cream-to-powder formula that's really easy to apply. Its a beautiful product with a delicate champagne glow and soft-focus effect -- creates a luminous sheen! Laura Mercier's matte radiance baked powder highlight is the bomb! This was my go-to for a long time -- I couldn't stop using it even with all my other highlighters! Its super natural with a soft matte radiance -- totally gives a healthy glow, goes on smoothly and blends effortlessly. I like to apply it above my cheekbones and then use a damp beauty blender over it, so it looks more natural and dewy! So my last product is one of my newest purchases and I'm pretty excited about it -- wander beauty on-the-glow blush! its a blush and highlighter duo -- so easy and perfect for on-the-go too. It is also a cream-to-powder product that just glides on and is so easy to blend. I don't love too much blush because I can tend to get rosy cheeks in the summer, but this pretty coral pink is perfect for summer, and all you need is a little dab on the apple of your cheeks!

benefit watts up // laura mercier matte radiance // wander beauty blush on-the-glow

E Y E S & L I P S

I am obsessed with lipsticks and lipglosses but in the summer I don't like having anything too thick or sticky on my lips. I like to keep it much more natural and no fuss. I tend to use lip balm or chapstick -- my lips look smooth, soft and pretty. Sugar advanced therapy lip treatment is really nice. I love the texture and it really keeps your lips from being chapped. If i want a little more of natural pinky or rosy color to my lips then I use Albeit's nourishing lip balm. It's soft and creamy and has the perfect rosy pink color and it's not sticky. My newest fave is Dior's color reviver lip balm in nude pink. Its a very sheen pink but it enhances the natural color of your lips and also has SPF 10 -- protects and softens your lips! Lastly, just throw on some coats of mascara -- waterproof is best in case you’re heading to the beach or pool. I love the formula of Too Faced's better than sex, so i was so happy when they came out with their waterproof version. Then i'll use some clear brow gel to make sure my eyebrows are tamed and stay in place all day!

what are your favorite summer makeup products??

hope everyone has a beautiful week!

body suits + cutoffs

Happy M O N D A Y !!! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Today i'm sharing my first MUST-HAVE MONDAY post and if you haven't already noticed one of my favorite must-haves for this summer season and probably in life -- BODY SUITS & CUTOFFS! I am wearing almost every bodysuit I own and not even half of the denim cutoffs I have.. And I'm sure I'll be getting more this season! I am seriously obsessed with the body suit trend -- if you don't already own one, i say go get one MEOOOOW! I feel totally cool and sleek when i'm wearing a bodysuit. Bodysuits are clean, contouring, comforting and a super sexy way to flaunt your curves. whether its casual and cool or classic and professional, the body suit just works -- totally keeps you frm having ugly wrinkle lines when tucking our shirt in. Now pair a bodysuit with the perfect fitting denim cutoffs and you are one hot stylish babe! I mean, cutoff denim shorts are an obvious choise for a summer must-have -- i literally buy at least two to three pairs every summer -- its bad, but i love them so much. They're easy AND the minute i switch out leggings for my denim cutoffs or find a cute new pair, you know its summa summa time! You will be seeing me in this look lots this summer -- it may be my new summer uniform!
